My Family
As I said on a previous page, I have become VERY much interested in family history. Unfortunately, none of
my immediate ancestors ever wrote much down, and all that I have inherited are a very few papers and a
mass of old photographs, all dating from 1920-1950, and most featuring people no one now living can
recognize!

At the end of 2006, I decided that the best gift I could give the younger members of our extended family was
as comprehensive a family tree as I could develop. I also realized that, with the speed at which I am now
losing my vision, this project was something I would have to undertake RIGHT now, or I might not be able to
do it in future. Fortunately, three of my cousins have been far more interested and active and I am VERY
grateful to them for having done so much of the work and for being so generous in sharing their time and
research.

The family tree is very much a "work in progress". Some parts of it are well documented, others are, frankly,
somewhat conjectural but I have tried to make it clear, in individual records, which are which, and I expect to
be adding, possibly subtracting and certainly correcting, twigs, even limbs, of the tree, for the foreseeable
future. I have completed most of the work I can do in Canada and am now starting on the British ancestors
that are yet unresearched.

What a remarkable tree it is! How I wish I knew what they all looked liked; what their trades were; what crises
and opportunities they faced and how they dealt with them. There are so many for whom I know so little.
