Album: An Evening in The Shire

Our friends Tania and Kirsten and their two cats live in a lovely new open-concept log house out in the country, which they call The Shire. On Saturday, 15 October 2005, Sue and I went to The Shire for a most pleasant afternoon and evening and a fantastic dinner. Thankew, T&K!

Album: A Reunion with someone I'd never met!

Some years ago, Brian Drake, a former Diehard (Middlesex Regiment) responded to a request for information I had placed on the Diehard website in England. We have been exchanging jokes, etc., ever since. Brian and his wife Joan live in Calgary so Sue and I took the opportunity of our Christmas visit to get together with them and another old Diehard, Dave Vitler.

Album: The 2006 Clans

On Saturday, 25 February 2006, the annual "Clans" bonspiel broke out at the Huntley Curling Club in Carp, Ontario. Our team consisted of Sue, Kevin and I, plus Honouray Needham Ann Moore, hereinafter to be known as "Auntie Ann". We lost our two games rather badly, but won the trivia quiz, so didn't come away empty-handed. The curling was fun, the players most congenial and the food was excellent, so everyone had a great time and ignored the snowstorm raging outside all day.

Album: Vicki's Birthday in the Woods

On May 7th 2006, We celebrated our friend Vicki's birthday at a party organized by her pal Lynn in the beautiful open woods that comprise much of his farm. Deep in the woods. The wet woods. The deep, wet woods, with the muddy trail. The one we walked miles along to find the clearing where the party would take place, with everyone roasting sausages and drinking wine around a fire. What a terrific idea for a party. Everyone had a GREAT time, especially as we got to RIDE back to the cars!
