I had spent a week in W.A. during my first visit to the old OZ in 1995 and wanted to see more. When I was invited to give the keynote address for the first session of the Museums Australia national conference in 2003, I jumped at the chance!

Album: Oost-Vlaanderen 2002

In May 2002, Sue and I travelled to Gent in Oost-Vlaanderen, where I had been invited to give a "master class" in visitor research by my friend and colleague Adriaan Linters, an architectural conservator and heritage authority in Kortrijk. The workshop itself took place in the unused building of the local mental hospital, a singularly appropriate place for museum people to meet!!! We discovered Gent and its county to be a magical place - one of the great hidden treasures of Belgium.

Album: The Amazing Halifax Voyage of 2009

In july 2009, Sue and I, and our friends Michael and Terri, drove to Halifax to be weekend guests of the Navy. In c.1759 costume, we helped commemorate the 250th anniversary of the naval dockyard and kicked off the 100th anniversary year of the Royal Canadian Navy. True to its traditions, the Navy treated us like kings. We took a more leisurely pace on the return trip and the nested albums show you what we saw.
